Our pricing is very transparent. We charge by the square foot. If you measure the length of the rug (include fringe) and the width of the rug to get the square feet, we charge $3.00 per square foot for rugs dropped off at our showroom or $3.75 per square foot for rugs that we pick up and re-deliver to your home. We do have a minimum charge for rugs that are smaller than 3’ x 3’ – $45.00 for cash and carry, $55.00 for pick-up and delivery.

So, for example a 5’ x 8’ foot rug that was dropped off at our showroom would cost $120.00 to clean.

Even if your rug is a room that doesn’t get much traffic, area rugs act like air filters. That meal you cooked or pet dander or fireplace logs you burned or just the air circulating in your home all get filtered by the area rug. The IICRC recommends getting your rug cleaned every 12 to 18 months to preserve your rugs and to improve your indoor air quality.

There are several benefits to using a high-quality rug pad. In addition to keeping the rug from sliding a rug pad can also add comfort underfoot by providing the extra cushion that feels so luxurious. The rug pad is also important in extending the life of your rug by providing that protection from damaging the fibers from foot traffic that can prematurely wear out the rug.

Kashian Bros has been cleaning rugs since our inception back in 1910. It is a part of our heritage. We take great pride in cleaning and restoring all types of rugs, from Heirloom oriental rugs to domestic rugs of all types. Over the decades we have refined our process to ensure the quality of the cleaning and the preservation of the original rug. While the process varies for different types of rugs and different conditions of the rug, the general process remains the same.

 – We inspect the rug for structural integrity, color fastness, damage from wear along the edges & the body, moth damage and other areas of concern. Prior to cleaning, we review the possible repairs with the customer along with written quotes for any approved repairs.

 – We then place the rug upside down over a screen and use sonic vibration to remove any solid particulates. A rug may look clean, but can actually hold a significant amount of fine soil deep down at the base of the rug.

 – If there are pet odors, we then immerse the rug using an enzyme solution to remove the odors prior to cleaning.

 – We then soak the rug and use a gentle low PH shampoo specifically formulated for rugs.

 – We shampoo the rug front and back using a rotary scrubber.

 – We clean the fringe by hand

 – Next, the rugs is thoroughly rinsed.

 – The rugs is then placed in a centrifuge where the rugs is rinsed a second time to remove any soapy residue. The commercial centrifuge spins the rug up to 3,000 revolutions per minute to quickly remove moisture. Once the rug is removed from the centrifuge it is roughly 95% dry.

 – To finish drying the rug completely, we hang the rug in our dry room where we use air movers, heat and dehumidifiers to quickly dry the rug completely. This step is critical to preserving the integrity of the rug.

 – Once the rug is dry, we inspect the rug again and brush it to fully release the fibers so the rug comes back bright and soft, similar to the process used when the rug was originally made.

 – The rugs is then rolled in brown paper and is ready for its return.
